In 2004, Simmons founded the Impulse Artists Series which was the 2009 winner of the ''Houston Press'' Best Non-Profit Arts Series.〔(Houston Press Best Non-Profit Arts Series )〕〔(Impulse Artist Series )〕 In 2011, Simmons published the eBook ''Emerge Already!: The Ultimate Guide to Career Building for Emerging Artists'',〔(Emerge Already Book )〕 titled after her Emerge Already!〔(Emerge Already )〕 project of the same name. Simmons' first album was titled''Revolutionary Rhythm'' (2009). In 2012 she released the single "Boss's Nova",〔(Boss's Nova )〕 and the ''Playing With Fire'' EP〔(Playing With Fire EP )〕 in September 2012, followed by a second full release on E1 (formerly Koch Classics) entitled ''#PaganiniProject''〔(#PaganiniProject )〕 in February 2013.
